Role: Alexia Rivero
Genere: SCI-FI/Thriller
This is a project written and directed by incredibly talented and devoted Mexican filmmakers living in the U.S. that were eager to give a voice to important subjects in our current world through the storytelling of fictional scenarios and characters that feel very close to home.
The story follows ‘Alexia'(played by me), a 17 year old girl who lives in the dystopian future of Mexico where a spatial elevator given the name of “AVIXIA” was built as a last hope for human survival. This spatial elevator divides the population in two: the ones who are left to survive on earth, and those who live on what they call “the second level” at AVIXIA. Alexia is given a chance to ascend to the second level, she is faced with fear knowing she will have to leave everything she knows behind and embrace the uncertainty of joining “the future of humanity”.

Oh man, playing Alexia Rivero was a wonderful experience. Coincidentally, I had to film just two weeks post surgery when I was supposed to be resting. I didn’t tell the director or crew so they wouldn’t worry(oops). I just wanted to be the one that gave Alexia a life of her own so badly, because the thing about this character was that I could relate so deeply with her vulnerability. I understood her fears and her pain. I also noticed how brave and diligent she was when it came to fighting the darkness within her and around her. This character came easily to me because I saw so much of me in her.
The weeks prior to filming I had gone through one of the most life changing and difficult moments of my life. I took that with me to set because Alexia’s experience was not far at all from mine. I believe Alexia to be one of the infinite versions of me that was waiting to be lived and expressed. It was also amazing to merge myself in this fictional world, specially because it was my first time working with a 360 LED screen and it made the experience so much more magical. I am so thankful I got to work with director Joaquin Guerra, who gave me an opportunity to mold this character freely and navigate in her world making powerful discoveries along the way.
